lol, I can't believe this, I'm not alone! my (ex) husband used to go nuts at the things I'd hide around the house, in particular that stuff that's like strips of GIANT bubble wrap, square bubbles about 6"x6". I couldn't resist it & it's really difficult to store as you can imagine!!! I never did find a use for it, but I just couldn't bring myself to part with it :o

Uh huh, i know the bubbles, i have some :D
My plan is to sell a LOAD of stuff on eBay, the only problem with my plan is that i am a terrible procrastinator and i have yet to put my plan into action! In the meantime i am hoarding as much packaging as i can from the stuff that HE orders from eBay! :rotfl:

    Swan,

    The mysteries of bread!

Down here a round (about 3 1/2 inch) bread roll that is steam baked with a really crusty crust is an exploding cob, you end up wearing most of it! I know it is difficult but we have cobs (sperical) rolls (long) baps (big soft cobs) down the road in Leics you can buy Submarines (shape explains it) but try going to london and getting a "sausage roll" or even a roll with a sausage - My personal preferance is for Lorne BTW!
I see, that sounds really nice, I can just imagine the mess it makes!

up here we have mainly rolls or morning rolls (baps) & butteries or butter rolls (Aberdeen rolls) but North of here in Aberdeen the rolls/baps are called softies & a roll is a butter roll/Aberdeen roll (crispy rolls made from a salty layered yeasted dough a bit like like puff pastry) confused? I certainly am!

& Lorne, excellent stuff. crispy Lorne on a roll with brown sauce, mmm :) ... it used to be available in round & square, but you only ever see the square these days

btw, those little containers you get fresh dips in are great for storing craft supplies in, sequins etc

  • You have my juices flowing now swan, a few years back I had some deliveries to do in Scotland, went to some distillery just north of Glasgow, where I delivered some CONTAINERS, then had to go on up north, slept in a big car park in Luss on the side of Loch Lomond, this guy turned up and did the most delicious Lorne in a Cob I have ever tasted, thenceforth on to Fort William - What a drive!! The on to Inverness last delivery and back home - 4 days well spent. ( As an aside I had family in Grantown but they found it to lively and have moved to Gareloch (Loch Maree) for the peace and quite!

I've been there done it all right around the coast from top to bottom - Its stunning and I recommend it all as a hoiday to all and everybody.

A couple of years ago we hired a boat and travelled the canal from Inverness to Fort William via Loch Ness and it was one of the most beautiful holidays i have ever had. I would agree and highly recommend it to anyone who wants some peace and quiet, although at this time of year i would think it's a bit choppy out there on the lochs!
We stored quite alot of our food in CONTAINERS to keep it fresh :D

i hardly buy ice-cream and don;t buy grapes in the re-sealable bag's. but i will generally not throw a pot away if i can re-use it. where we used to live had the most amazing chinese takeaway. anyway all the meals came in indivdual tupperwere type tub's they were fab. i always used to thrown them away tho , as never through about keeping them. then once we had kids moved away from area, and our chinese used the tin foil ones now. but if our chinese does start to use these pots then i shall keep them all.
i have a thing for sma formula milk tins. there just too handy to throw away. we have so many in the shed now. mu hubby uses them for all sorts. i have covered a few for my daugther to keep puzzle bit's in.

I don't buy icecream, but I've accumulated some litre tubs from the family. When I travel I use them to pack toiletries, sunlotion, medication and them bring them back full of food like feta cheese, olives, etc - which are really expensive here - I cover the feta in olive oil - and it keeps for months - it's also much better quality.
  • I kept all the wrapping form my sofa's (filled the shed quite nicely!) great stuff, really strong, all my ebay stuff was wrapped in it for MONTHS!
I used to be able to collect those nice kenko jars, they've had several other uses!
I've reused the 'moulds' you get in chocolate advent calendars!

I have 20 empty pots from double cream (the large ones) they come with a plastic lid but it's not very tight, I'm loathe to throw these away but can't think of a use except plant pots, anyone have any suggestions?
There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.
