They are great for putting leftovers in the fridge, becuase they are strong, have lids which fit well and are see through.
OMG I have a collection too - I store make up, frozen fruit from my garden and screws and nails (not all in the same one lol)
I can't throw anything away - Mrs Trebus in the making:eek:

I am no expert in property but have lived in many types of homes, in many locations and can only talk from experience.0 -
Mr_Proctalgia wrote:Swan I'm amazed, I was born in a corner shop, used to weigh out the butter, sugar in blue bags etc, the sweet jars had a deposit on them in those days.
We don't know we have lived do we?... but even lemonade bottles had deposits, 3d as I recall. my pals & I used to collect them & take them back to the shops to get money for sweets
(better mention containers & keep on topic) ... talking of sweet jars, they're often made of plastic these days, not so robust for pickling purposes0 -
Flippin'eck Ticklemouse and voodoozoe! Thought it must just be me with the Carte D'Or tubs - I use them as freezer boxes and also find them very useful when (like now) I'm having a big sort-out. They're great for dividing things up like hair bobbles and buttons.
In the summer I get involved in the charity collections at the Proms and we use Carte D'Or boxes to sort the different denominations of coins out when we're counting each night's collection.
PLUS Carte D'or is really yummy and is half price at Tesco till next Tuesday
Edit: I cross-posted with more Carte D'Or tub fans!
The other thing that seems to accumulate around here is the plastic pudding basins that Christmas puds come in - they make great microwave dishes.
OK - off to, ahem, continue emptying my latest Carte D'Or box in the freezer before I go to bed...Operation Get in Shape

Oooooooooh, i love containers! Unfortunately my bloke doesn't and can't see the appeal of my ever-expanding collection
I also use carte do'r tubs (think they had them on special many moons ago) i have sewing stuff and hair and beads in mine
I managed to smuggle a carrier bag full of jars into the garage the other day while he wasn't looking, along with a couple of bags of bubble wrap and assorted used jiffy bags!0 -

lol, I can't believe this, I'm not alone! my (ex) husband used to go nuts at the things I'd hide around the house, in particular that stuff that's like strips of GIANT bubble wrap, square bubbles about 6"x6". I couldn't resist it & it's really difficult to store as you can imagine!!! I never did find a use for it, but I just couldn't bring myself to part with it0 -

(faves are the truffle liqueur, tiramisu liqueur and some of the fruit ones... but they're not cheap, definitely an occasional luxury!)Operation Get in Shape

I think you lot will drum me out, cut off my epaulettes and throw me out of the room, I don't like Ice cream or Chocolate, but I lurve Grated Cheese with Branston in an exploding cob, the only trouble is the cobs don't keep and it makes a hell of a mess in my van, but hey the van is a container too???The quicker you fall behind, the longer you have to catch up...0

but, what's an exploding cob??? is it a regional delicacy? don't think we have those up here in Scotland0 -
Swan,
The mysteries of bread!
Down here a round (about 3 1/2 inch) bread roll that is steam baked with a really crusty crust is an exploding cob, you end up wearing most of it! I know it is difficult but we have cobs (sperical) rolls (long) baps (big soft cobs) down the road in Leics you can buy Submarines (shape explains it) but try going to london and getting a "sausage roll" or even a roll with a sausage - My personal preferance is for Lorne BTW!The quicker you fall behind, the longer you have to catch up...0
