Trying to load program .. error message

Hi there ... i am trying to load a program on my pc from a disc ... but keep getting this error message
C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt. The system file is not suitable for runningMS-DOS and microsoft windows applications. Choose close to terimnate the program
any ideas how to remedy this problem and what exactly is the problem.
