  • I think you may have to face the thought of losing the house - not sure if your SOA is based on the new rate of payments or the old one? I know this is difficult but we can help you with any questions, etc. What is renting like around your way??

add on money for opticians, dentist, haircuts (£10 per adult). If you do add mobile and internet altogether under telephone, this is going to make it quite high so the OR may ask you to cut this down am afraid.

  • The building and contents insurance has not got accidental damage it used to be #34 per month and then checked around and got it down to #25.00 thanks for suggesting about haircut as I got about that - I have taken note of your comments regarding internet etc. and will include these as one - I am at the moment trying to negotiate a better deal where I get all three in one package for 45.00 so that should help - I will also try to add more like you say for clothes - with these increases and the amount coming in and going out where would I stand as regards what is best BR or Debt Management Programme.

Renting in this area would be from 300.00 upwards for a one bedroom flat or the other option I have thought of would be to house share where everything would be included for about 70.00 per week so those are the options I have been looking at but desperately trying to save house after putting so much into it - 12 months ago the house was worth #130,000 - but I suppose to enable me to move forward and get a good nights sleep I will have to take some form of action for peace of mind

Another question I would like to ask - how long is it before the Mortgage People repossess if it came to that? I am not in arrears but if I stopped paying mortgage how long would it be before they take the house!!!!

    It is a nightmare

Hi, you might be better to get the accidental damage just in case something happens, try shopping around again and see.

We have sky tv, telephone and broadband - £21 pm weekend and eve calls free so you will have to pay for calls outside of these times and we pay BT £12 pm for line rental. But sky are now offering line rental too for £10.50 pm.

It will be at least six months before repossession happens but it could be upto one year. If you do go down this route and are going BR, never sign anything which says you will remain liable for the balance when you do hand the keys back.

Try seeing if you can find anyone to house share but be careful too, get references from them as you want to share with someone whose lifestyle is similar to your own.

I know it is a nightmare but it will get better. keep positive ... happy thoughts!

  • will recheck insurance quotes and see what they are coming up with - the package I am trying to get with broadband is with Orange they offer mobile line rental and landline and calls with broadband free for a total of #35.00 so that sounds ok - as regards getting somebody to share I have been that road before and got ripped off - if I knew where to look for decent people to house share that would be a big relief - I have tried the local newspaper but got no response - will try and give this another try and see what response I get as that would be a big help

Thank you so much for all your advice

Second everything Don says. Also make sure your car insurance is fully comp. You can up the groceries to £200. Also you could get breakdown cover. Holiday £30.
