Avg test results

Hi

I have windows xp, running AVG free, Zone alarm and spybot.

My AVG test results show

Object result status



c:\WINDOWS\system32\user32.dll Change Changed

c:\WINDOWS\system32\shell32.dll Change Changed

c:\WINDOWS\system32\ntoskrnl.exe Change Changed

All others show as okay

When i select filter by virus's or warnings only these results are the only ones that remain on screen.

However when i check overall test results it shows no virus's found

Can anyone explain what changed means and advise if i have/could have a virus

Thats because Windows has updated after the last AVG scan so its saying that
some parts of the OS has changed since last scan, nowt to worry about.

One thing that did surprise me about AVG free edition is that, when my 'puter caught a virus, the AVG found it during a routine scan but did not immediately alert me (e.g. with a pop-up), which I assumed it would. When it just quietly closed when it was finished as usual, I thought it was fine and didn't actually realise it had found a virus until the following day.

Sounds like you have it on automatic repair. Check in the settings and change to notify if this is a problem.
