My present offer with NTL ends at the end of March and I am looking to reduce my costs. I currently have the 3 for £30 offer which was for new customers only but I got after complaining (I was an existing customer at the time). I currently have broadband, family package and telephone. What offers are there elsewhere for me that I can use to compare. Also Im very happy with my service so if I say I am cancelling (but I dont really want to) - will they tell me just to go ahead and cancel as Ive already had one offer.

A BT landline costs £11/month (pay by DD) and you've heard of a firm (1899) which would allow you to make UK 01/02 calls at any time for 3p connection and 0p/minute on that. You've also heard that BT give free Caller Display, 1471, 1571 answerphone and Premium Rate call barring and, as your house previously had a BT landline, BT would reconnect free of all charges.
 BT 2meg BB costs £17.99/month.
You could buy a Freeview box for £30 - with no ongoing commitment.
You're not thinking of cancelling, you're just considering your options.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
