MrT order arrived last night on the stroke of 10pm (I was hoping for a voucher if it'd had been any later lol!) and came to £19.09. They forgot the clover (on offer at 84p I think) but otherwise I was quite pleased - everything in good date etc. Nipped into MrM&S (is that what we call m&s on here?) on the way home and got two 'touch of butter' 500g BOGOF for £1.69 so thats ok I guess! (plus technically it was free as I had £2 left on the end of a giftcard lol)...
In other news the OH has organised having 6 people for dinner on sunday and apparently I'm cooking! I'm thinking HM pizza and HM wedges - cheap and cheerful...xx

Logged on to update today's spends, placed my first order with Approved Foods:j just a small order to test it out so fingers crossed.
Last nights Turkey & leek pie went down well, printed off the Jamie Oliver recipe from the Internet but had to adapt the recipe as I didn't have the 2kg of leeks req'dand didn't have any chestnuts in but had everything else needed, anyway, it was delicious and very MSE as using sliced Turkey stashed in the Freezer from the Xmas Turkey.:D
The new Lakeland catalogue arrived in the post today, keep debating about the Remoska but frightened to spend that amount of money but thinking about it today I have decided to start saving a little each month and then maybe ask for one for my Birthday which is a while away yet so should have enough saved by then.;)
Thanks MRSMC for the Stafido recipe, will meal plan that in for a couple of weeks time, thanks also Angelnikki for posting MrT's offers.
Dinner tonight is Fish, HM Chips and mushy peas. Enjoy the rest of the day everyone.:D"WASTE NOT, WANT NOT!"GC for OH, myself, DD18 & DD16 includes Toiletries, cleaning stuff & Food.

Just an update. Nearly a third of the budget gone and only a week passed. I'm starting to panic a bit. Mind you, lots of what I've bought this week is one-off purchases, like cleaning fluid, wet wipes, washing up liquid. They should last a good long time!
Farm Foods was my fave shopping trip. 2 Kingsmill 50/50 loaves for £1.50, cheaper than any named bread deal I've seen for a little while and 15 yorkshire puds for £1. I'm not sure if they'll be as nice as Aunt Bessies, but it's got to be worth a go as Aunt Bessies were £1.49 for the same thing.
Home Bargains had Pataks Korma Sauce for 59p; Sacla fennel pesto for 0.39p and aubergine & parmesan for the same price. I thought they'd be handy for non-cooking nights and as convenience food goes, it's pretty cheap. I also bought a 12 divider file with Mickey Mouse on for £1.49, which I will be using to store my receipts in for the coming year.
The Sainbsury's bill was mostly Just Right (bought 10 boxes to last for a while) and 3 birthday gift/cards, 2o of which were reduced by half.
I've got enough meat, bread and milk for the next week. The freezer will get some hammer this week though. Just about to check posts for the last day to see if I can pick up some tips on how to cut back next week.Drop half a stone for January challenge.

Coming on here is like going to Weight Watchers but for saving money instead of losing weight if you know what i mean, can never lose weight if left to my own devices, and with this particular thread i am feeling confident about saving money.Jan 2025 £26561.43/£0. Spent another 'few' pounds today:o . I've decided to include any lunches we buy in our grocery spend, as we are supposed to be making our own sandwiches etc:rotfl: , so this should highlight wasted money that can be saved

Went into Mr A and Mr T yesterday to get a few bits...
took advantage of Mr A rollback on toiletries:
Adidas Deodorant 400ml £2.38 down to £1
Timotei shampoo & Cond 400ml £1
Reduced Bacon £2.38 down to £1.55 (They managed to charge me full price so I went back in the afternoon for a refund and apparently it had been reduced further to £1.01 so got it a bit cheaper than I would have done!)
2 more 2009 christmas pressies for £2.50 each
In MrT got a few stationery bits and pieces, ham, milk etc but also they have 6 free range eggs marked down from £1.25 to 65p. These were then whoopsied to 33p for 6 with a date of 14th on them. So picked up two packs and will use for lemon curd recipe/general baking this weekend as well as treating OH to cooked brekkie tomorrow as he's had to go to work whilst I enjoyed the first week of maternity leave!!!Jonathan Douglas born 20th January 2009 - 9lb 4oz

Not having a good day. Decided to try my new slow cooker ( special treat for me half price in tesco sale) the pot can go on the hob allegedly, read all the instructions and followed them to the letter and the pot cracked and spilled all its contents all over the cooker.
Was really quite scary, boiling liquid and veggies everywhere, managed to rescue most of it and put it in the old ( bigger) slow cooker. Very dissappointed, I hate it when a treat doesnt work out and was a big decision to buy it.Took ages to mop it all off the cooker too, but as a bonus my hob is now very clean:o .
So now I have to go to Mr T after work to take it back, which is bad as I will no doubt have to spend other money while I am there. ho hum.

Sorry to hear about your mishap, you were lucky you weren't scalded.
MrsMC's excellent cobbler topping recipe is in the index on the front page of this thread... don't throw the string away. You always need string!
