Well...am already £2.75 over budget this month....but put this down to bulk buying nappies when they were on offer (1/3 off) at Sainsburys. Certainly won't need to buy any next month anyway:rotfl:

My total is therefore £402.75 - my challenge ends next Tuesday evening....so will maybe be around another £10 on top of that, for bread, milk etc....oh well..hopefull February will be a bit better!!

Evening Everyone! Just watched the 'Dispatches' programme on CH4 and it made very interesting viewing. Have to confess though, I really can't bring myself to buy very low budget meat, pies or sausages -I'd just rather do without. I think I have been brainwashed by previous 'foody' programmes which I have seen.

Anyway, I hit the shops tonight and YES my remaining budget for January is now a whopping £2.88p (Ha:rotfl: Ha). Spent in total £9.46 on:-

    1 Tub Clover
    1 Kg Oats
    4 T Rolls
    2 K Rolls
    2 Ltr Milk
24 'Whoopsie' Bread rolls for the freezer
    500gr Dried Fruit
    1 Block Edam
    1 Punnet 'Whoopsie' Plums
    1 Bag SR Flour
    2 Bags Bread Flour
    1 Tub Stork
    3 Pkts 'Whoopsie' Fresh Peas
    2 Whoopsie Cucumbers

Sorry to bore you with the list. but great decisions have to to made now about how to spend my remaining pennies  maybe more eggs.....or more milk next week....or meat:eek: (Won't get much for £2.88)......or veggies or maybe just sweeties:rotfl: I will declare next week as I really hoped to get to 31st Jan and I'm not quite done yet.

CAN YOU PUT ME DOWN FOR £120 FOR FEBRUARY PLEASE MRS M. WHEN YOU DO YOUR LIST? THANK YOU.

I just watched the dispatches programme as well. I've never eaten cheap meat products for years. There was a programme on W..ls sausages years ago, and showed you what went into them, and couldn't eat them after that. didn't like the mushy taste of them anyway before that.
I would far sooner have a little of decent meat or none at all. Pumping up the chicken fillets with water was a disgrace. Adding glucose to them as well, scandalous. I wonder which was the major wholesaler whose chicken breasts are 40% water.

Wasn't planning to do any shopping today as did a load yesterday but got a flyer saying S**fields had put their ham joints down from £10 to £5. I'd bought for xmas, it was lovely and stretched very well. So I went to get a couple only to find that it was the small ones that were only £5 before xmas anyway, which was a bit cheeky.

Whilst I was in there I got a whoopsies on mince 97p and a roast pork joint for £2.94 total £3.91 so not a total lost cause.
  • Hi, checking in
Spent way over budget this week but had low spend last week and went to Aldi tonight (first visit) and spent £23.91 which should take me through most of next week.
    Groceries £132.44
'Me' money £3.oo slimming club £5.13 Eyebrow wax (includes 10 % discount)

Also going to include eating out as I think I spend lot on that

Need to think about monthly totals I think, rather than weekly
  • MrsMc. not sure if I have requested you to put me on the list for February or not, think I asked at the beggining of the week when I started my "Feb challenge". Not been too well this week and think this has affected the grey matter a bit!! So just in case I did not:

CAN YOU PUT ME DOWN FOR £200 FOR FEBRUARY PLEASE

    Hi everyone

Tonight we had sausage pasta - found some frozen sausages that needed using up so cooked them, chopped into chunks and served with pasta tomato sauce (from a jar) and pasta shells. Not very exciting but quick after getting back from the opticians.

Orchid 96 - The holiday camp is "Haven" in Seaton. It's such a shame as there's a gym and swimming pool that the locals used sitting empty now while MrT who bought the land puts in for planning permission and decides what to do with it. No more visitors spending money in the town....

The fridge is almost bare and there's hardly any fruit. Only got about £14 to last until the 31st and DD and DS are drinking so much milk!
Mortgage Free in 3 part 2 challenge - pay off £9000
    Sealed Pot Challenge 416 - target £500
  • TheBeas, that didn't used to be a Pontins years ago did it? If it did, Think I went there.....Know what you mean about milk, and my ds (6) has decided he doesn't like his 'watered down' so I have to keep him some separate now!

Off to bed now, was going to pop onto the laptop at 8.20 for half an hour and I am still here!!

  • Can I join in this for FEB please? I'm feeding me and hubby (and a dog, although she's on dried food so treats only). Can we aim for £90 for the month?

I managed to pick up, reduced snickers flapjacks, 4 chicken legs, 2 poussins, 3 loaves of Hovis, a roll of belly pork and a 2.5kg bag of all round potatoes for ... £6.50 today. And then I used £2.50 worth of vouchers. So really all that for £4!!

Am hoping that Feb all month will be as frugal.
