Thankyou for the invite Amiee.....you'll definately be seeing me on the wedding threads before long. I haven't a clue where to start :o

Have you got a date in mind? Most reception venues get booked up rather quickly, so I'd start with that- that was the hardest part for us. My dress, surprisingly, was the easy part!

10,000 Posts Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!

However he proposed over Xmas with an empty box and an I.O.U and he has a Romantic break booked for us at the end of January so we can "do it properly"

Congratulations in advance. Hope this isn't just an excuse for him to have his wicked way with you in the New Year    .

I can't add to the advice re: mens engagement rings, however you could always buy him a packet of hula-hoops for an abundant supply of rings in the same spirit as the empty box!!

Hope is not a strategy :D...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!

:rotfl: No he's just soooooo worried about choosing the wrong size/style etc, which I appreciate because its gonna be my first AND last engagement ring and I do want it to be right

As for having his wicked way........well he only has to look at me and...................;) :p

  • I asked my OH if he wanted a ring or something but he didn't. I got him some limited-edition posh beer instead, not quite the same cost as a ring though! Has anyone else's OH's found trying on rings strange? Nothing to do with the idea of marriage or anything deep like that but simply because they've never worn a ring before and it feels strange?!
Got married 23rd May 2009, many thanks to all on the Weddings and Anniversaries board for their help and support!

How about a watch instead of a ring, something that will last, and every time he has to check the time he will think of you!

OH is getting an engagement ring. He has said that he's proud to be my Fiance and wants to show that. Why should a woman wear one and not a man if they are both making the same commitment? My OH has been looking at White Gold or Titanium (both with Diamonds in) he will change it to his right hand when we get married as we are getting matching wedding bands.
