NEW Ford Fiesta!

Mazda and Ford are owned by the same guys and Mazda, Ford, Volvo all use the Pug diesel engines. So if you don't like Puf's then don't buy a Ford lol.
The new Fiesta is rather nice.
The new quater light seems to be the new "thing" as near enough every car has em now..0 -
If you want a car with headlights like that try a Mazda 2
Now that's a sexy li'l number
Thanks!“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
The new fiesta is more the size of the peugeot 207. The Focus is more the size of a 308 (307 is previous model).
In that case I think the Fiesta might be a bit on the small side. I prefer the size of the Pug 307 especially once your sat inside, it feels so spacious.
The fiesta is quite cute. The centre dashboard layout looks a bit like a large nokia mobile phone.
The Mazda 2 feels smaller than the Fiesta and the 207 when you are inside it.
Hmmmm, that could be a problem then. Shame as it's lovely looking little car but I think I might feel claustrophobic in it
Mazda is not an option for me because the dealer is a 90 mile round trip.
I'll have to have take a look at some of these cars in the flesh before I make a final decision. I had a Pug 307 as a hire car for a couple of weeks so know how that feels to drive etc and I do really like it. It just seems no one else likes them and whenever I mention I want to buy one I get that 'sharp intake of breath' and comments such as 'you don't wanna go buying one of those cr*p French cars love'“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Looking at those three cars above, there's not a great deal to distinguish one from the other at a quick glance. Why do cars not have any individuality anymore? <sigh>“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

Its caused by the way cars a are designed now, by committee, to very tight saftey guidelines following "trends". So they have to have high bonets so that heads bouncing off them dont come in contact with the engine etc. Look at the 3 versions of the MX5 MK1 pop up head lights not allowed now as the are sharp edged. MK II got fat for side impact protection, Mk III got a big fat nose to protect pedistrains.0

The new Fiesta WILL be a popular - Ford need this to be 'right', as they haven't had thew 'best' small car, for sometime. That's another reason new KA, is really a Fiat 500 underneath!
Fiesta, though, is to be a WORLD car, like the original Mondeo, was. so it'll have enough options & model choices to appeal to everyone.
Initally, though, you're not getting the most up to date engines - these are going to be fitted later, but not sure when.
Currently discounts are being offered, too, so you might get an OK deal!!

I am currently looking at getting one of these for my Wife, had a test drive in the 1.4TDCi at the weekend and it feels so solid to drive its great so hopefully agreeing the deal this weekend all being well.
£175/month on 3 year Ford Options contract for a 3 door 1.4TDCI Titanium with Metallic paint, not a bad price too for a car that has not been out long with good fuel economy and £35 road tax.Getting thrifty in my old age!:beer:0 -
Fiesta is the best selling car among our own customers since November....leaving everything else in the shade. It is hugely popular and now the eurpoean dealers are ordering the eladtimes for UK customers will start to lengthen a little, we had a rich seam of stock for the UK in Nov/Dec but its getting shorter now.
You need to be quick as Ford are likely to implement their delayed price changes oj the new Fiesta (postponed from early Dec 08) in mid Jan', so you only have about a week to make up your mind.
..and they introduced new bonuses from last week on Titanium and Styles.
Leadtimes on diesels are around 10-12 weeks....
Hope that helps“Official Company Representative
