Anywhere to buy car cloth trims?
I have a couple of tatty car seats in my Astra and a local shop has said it will cost £100 to replace part of the cloth with a *similar* trim.
I want to try and get hold of the original trim, does anyone know any firms that sell them. I've found scrap yards to be too arsey and dont want the hassle

Are you anywhere near Herts/Beds?
The trimmer we use is close by A1 junction 10 & if you were able to memove the seats & get them to him, you'd spend less than 1/2 this amount.
I'll post the contact details, if anyone wants them.
BEWARE .. if you have seatbelt pre-tensioners, there is a safety implication here, MAKE SURE you are able to do the removal WITHOUT setting these off - it is VERRRRRRY dangerous, potentially!!

Cheers vansboy,
I'm in the east midlands so it would be difficult to get down, the saving would probably cancel out the fuel costs!
I heard than pretensioners have some kind "explosive" action?!

Yes - they will 'explode'.
Have a look in yellow pages for coachtrimers or under sailmakers.
The lacal independent car sales place, near you must have someone he uses - worth asking!

good idea, and ill look through coach trimmers and give some car dealers a ring.
Thank you!0 -

yes the pretensioner will explode. however i read that if you disconnect the battery and leave it for a while the charge in the unit discharges making it safe to remove. The best thing is to refer to a workshop manual.Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems
Well at least i learn something on the way
