Some Thistle hotels are on https://www.lastminute.com at good prices, including some in London that aren't named, but they use the same pictures as the thistle website so you can work it out. Hope this helps.

Search for Thistle in the rpoints.com forums and you will find some from last year - don't know if they're still valid. The reason I know - I used it on a phone booking and got the Thistle Bloomsbury, Central London for £85 a night for a family of 4 + breakfast in Oct 2005, which I thought was ok ???

Thistle used to send out codes regularly to their mailing list subscribers, but this arrangement seems to have altered: I haven't had one since October (it was JJJ22, but doesn't seem to work any more, at least not on the properties I've tried).

I think, though I don't know for sure, that the chain underwent some sort of big management change last year.

Some of them have been re-branded as Guoman hotels.

Yes, including the Tower in London (which is now supposedly more luxurious, though I haven't been there to see for myself). But I think this is a result of some fundamental high-level change - in policy, if not in ownership.

I've had a couple of decent bargains at the Thistle Bloomsbury through Priceline, but of course you have to accept the limitation of not knowing which hotel you're booking for until you've actually agreed to the deal.

Thanks everyone, I was quite optimistic when I saw 6 replies to my query but alas no codes as yet that are in use.
We are looking to get booked into the Thistle in Cheltenham and know when but wanted to get that cheaper deal that raises a smug smile!

Yes this is realy a tactic to get it back in the front page........
    Anyone??????????????????

They may not have codes but I got a room in Manchester for less than half of book rate last December.
You don't say when you want to book the room but all of next week is available at £55/£60 for a standard room (2 people) with breakfast. Some Saturdays prices go up to £78 but other midweek dates in February are available for as little as £40.

Late rooms is not an option as the place will be booked out for the race meeting....... its well booked now and the meeting is in November! I will have to book before the w/e.

  • Then I think your hopes of getting a cheap deal are virtually nil. Hotels are not stupid, if you don't pay they know that someone else will!
