Buying Holiday with Tesco Clubcard Points

I have read on another thread that Tesco Clubcard points are best used to buy clubcard deals as opposed to using them in the supermarket. I had a quick look o n their website and wondered if someone could answer me some questions.
If I wanted to purchase a Cosmos Holiday with them, are the prices offered to Tesco customers inflated? Also, is there a limit on how many clubcard points I can use on one holiday?

Not neccessarily inflated. But you do normally have to pay the brochure price - but you should also get any brochure benefits.
To get a better idea, phone Cosmos, tell them you want to pay with Tesco Deals but only want a quote.0 -
Also, there is no limit, but there is a minimum spend on the holiday - this is not neccessarily how much you have to pay in tokens though
eg.- £500 Minimum spend - pay £300 tokens and £200 cash0 -
Thankyou for your quick reply. Just one other question - could I use my clubcard points and my mums which are obviously in another name?0

No.
Although some may say yes!!
The Holidays, hotels and some travel now clearly state that they are only to be used by the person whose name is on the front.
Cresta wouldn't let me (likeswise with some on these boards) and others managed too.
I think that you may be able to get round it by transfering your mums points onto your card before they are coverted to vouchers? Hopefully someone else should be along to let you know how you can get round this. I am sure there is a "cheat" way.0 -
Hi, I am also looking to use tesco deal tokens for a holiday. We want to go somewhere in the UK though, but have found that the brochure price is too expensive, even with £400 in deal tokens - seems cheaper to forget about the deal tokens and go in the half price weeks? Is there a way around having to pay full brochure price?0

All you can really do Sammy is phone up and get a quote from the companies.
If you dont ask, you wont get!
I wont pay for a Tesco holiday with cash and tokens (unless its a nominal amount of cash - the Haven one was £22) as it can work out that using the tokens can almost be a waste.0 -
my friend called cosmos last week to get a quote on a week in greece. She was quoted £1050 for 2 people and when she mentioned that she would be using Tesco Vouchers the rather miserable man said if that was the case he would have to input a different ABTA number. He did this and the price came up as £1140. Is this legal?0

I don't know about different ABTA numbers. When I booked my holiday with Deals via Tradewinds, I was told the price went up when I said I'd like to pay with Deals vouchers becuase the 1st price I was quoted was a direct discount for not going through a travel agent. She couldn't offer me that discount if I paid with vouchers. Full brochure price had to be paid as Charlotte states above.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

How does the scheme work? Is there a code number on your clubcard vouchers that you have to provide to the travel agent?0

You get an application form from Clubcard, and fill it in with a Tesco Deals code (from their great deals brochure, or online)
You send it off with the clubcard vouchers (registered if lots of money to send!)
They send you back deals tokens.
You then ring up travel agent and book your holiday...you have to send the deals tokens off within 3 dyas of booking, again registered.
all details on clubcard section here.
