Hi folks,
I need to build a reasonably professional website and I would like to get into using dreamweaver and get away from the limitations of frontpage.
I don't mind having an older version (ie last 2yrs or so) so save money. Also are there any free versions available???? Just 400quid or so is a bit much for building one or two websites though I don't want to waste my time learning to use commercially unpopular free products like nvu.

If u buy a copy of a dreamweaver book (£10-15) there is usually a limited version with the book. Otherwise... ebay time!:D"Life? Life is nature's way of keeping meat fresh!"0

Dreamweaver is too much for a hobbiest. Its just too expensive. If you dont need it for more than 30 days, there is a trial version on the adobe/macromedia website of DW and Studio 8.
The cheapest way to get the latest version of software is by using version upgrades.
I always use the example of Adobe InDesign (which is about £600 - £650 new). You can get a geniune sealed copy of the previous version of indesign for just over £100 on ebay, then purchase a version upgrade for £150... saving yourself 400 or 500 quid!! All completely legal.
I dont know how easy it will be for you to get hold of an older version of dreamweaver. Be careful about macromedia products... buying non-legal or legal but already registered versions on ebay may cause you a headache as they require do require some sort of activation (I remember even since version 3 of DW the ere has been somsort of registration activation number).0
