Wanadoo are have a lot of their ISP addresses blocked by spam companies. Currently there are problems with emailing certain other providers. I for one can't email anyone on NTL - Wanadoo have said they are looking into it and from the chat forum on their site it appears this is the case since early December.
I have emailed them and asked for a refund due to the poor service and they just emailed back that I can email from my online account (which doesn't work either) or unplug my modem (which works intermittently).
I tried to do my own research and found I was on a list called SORBS and emailed them - they sent a really techy answer about my DNL being too short to de-list and that my provider would have to sort it out. I sent this email to Wanadoo with no result.
I can't get this resolved -I would just like to stop others signing up for wanadoo and save them time and trouble.

I am with Wanadoo and dont seem to have any trouble sending emails etc, we send quite alot as we run a business and havent experienced any problems, in fact their spam filters are working well for us.Weight Loss - 102lb0

I also had trouble trying to e-mail the University of Queensland. It was suggested I contact SORBS to get my address un-blocked but, like you linby, I got a techy answer which I then forwarded to Freeserve. Still none the wiser and my relative has had to get another account in order for me to contact her. E-mails from the blocked account come through ok but mine are all returned.0

I used to be on Wannadoo and at various times had all my mail to aol bounced, then NTL..It was quite a nightmare.

From what i remember, after looking into something similar with another ISP, what happens is someone starts sending lots of spam emails (not you) then other ISP's like AOL etc block that range IP addresses, which may account for why some people on Wannado have problems and others dont - it is dependent on what range their IP address is in.0

Yes, apparently the spam people block the whole range of the provider IP addresses and if you are unlucky to have one you get blocked!
However, thanks to Dejay, I have opened a yahoo account to email my friend's on ntl - thanks for that - don't know why I didn't think to do that

If you're on broadband it might be worth disconnecting it and reconnecting it - this should generate a new address (aka IP address) that'll hopefully be outside the range of addresses that are blocked.0
