JVC mg330 hard disk camcorder £163-is this a good deal?

Hi there,

Just reserved this at argos and wonder if its a good deal? £163 after £30 cashback from JVC,

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5632545/Trail/searchtext%3ECAMCORDER.htm

I have an older computer and wonder do I need a usb 2.0 card for transfering to pc, and if it can transfer quick enough. I have a standalone dvd recorder so maybe could use that as well to burn to dvd.

What do you think of the above offer (got good reviews from customers) and anything else to watch out for?

many thanks
Joe

  • Yes that's a very good deal and likely because there will be a catalogue out soon with new models so the price is low for that reason. There is a good review on simplydv which you can read here: http://www.simplydv.co.uk/reviews/camcorders/jvc/everio/jvc-everio-gz-mg330-review.html

    Hope that helps.
  • NOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ! Joemardo - Don't do it !!!

Let me save you another 30 Notes.

The same camera mocdel (in Blue or red )is on in store or reserve online at Currys, PC World and Dixons for £163 - and then U can get the £30 JVC cash back as well

ie it will cost you £133 for a 30GB Hard drive camcorder. THAT my Friend is a good deal - Reserve this instead.

Thanks for that though too late as I have already got it at argos and there's no 16 days returns. I did check for curiousity at the above shops but its out of stock at them anways, seems to be an end of line item, though thanks for letting me know, I'll be more careful in future.

On a different note what is the best and quickest way to transfer the video from the camcorcer hard disk onto the computer (I have an older computer with only usb 1.0 though space for a pc1 usb 2.0 card) Would I be better getting a firewire card, and once files are on pc can I just burn a dvd of them without any converting to a different format which will be playable on any dvd player?

I have a standalone panasonic dvd recorder (without any usb connections) but I think I would have to burn in real time there which would be slow.

    any advice greatly appreciated

    Joe
  • Hi

Could somebody please tell me if this is compatible with a Mac

    Thanks
  • This has got be a mis price here

    40GB Hard drive for £139 + £30 cashback making it £109

Isn't the fact that the price ends in .97 one of the clues to something in DSG
can't remember what - but notice its not available for collection from store nor available for delivery - sounds like one of those ' lets get them in the store' prices but we haven't actually got any

    Hello,

Just a heads up to anyone who bought a JVC Everio Camcorder - you have to claim the cashback online by 12th Feb and send off a copy of your receipt by 16th Feb.

The site to go to is:
    https://www.jvc.co.uk/everiocashbackoffer.php

I have been meaning to claim this since I bought my camcorder on 27th Dec and never got round to it. Just found the leaflet about the offer and it says on the front that promotion ends 15th Jan BUT that date is only to purchase one by - you have until 12th Feb to claim!!!

I only found this out after 10mins of cursing and typing in the web address anyway to give it a go!!!!
