How can I tighten up my internet security!!

PC seems to be fine. Will defintely know if I stop getting silent calls and AV picking viruses everyday. I will leave Dell Myway search if it is not doing any harm. Does not want to do more than necessary as I am not very confident with computer? Most of the time, I get this pop and do not understand the meaning of it. Please do you have re-boot your computer after you have scanned in safe mode? In the past I have never scanned in safe mode. My printer does not print web ages, any idea why? I could print your post but when there is the address of a website, the printer skips it. Guess, it's time to get a new one. Thanks again for your invaluable help.

Is the Dell/MyWay search bar etc. doing any harm? Well, I guess that depends on what you mean by "harm".

You are still getting a popup? Do you know what it's called? Is it trying to sell you something? Please let us have as much detail on the pop up as you can. We'll see what we can do to stop it.

Scanning in safe mode ... it would probably be a good idea to reboot after scanning in safe mode.

Printer not working ... could be many things (including, as you say, the printer being broken). Have you tried uninstalling it from your PC then re-installing it? That might help correct any bugs that have crept into the system.

what on earth do you mean I am not up to date. If you're implying that spysweeper is not the best spyware removal tool out there, I disagree. If you are saying that there are not up-to-date trial versions out there I also disagree..

But the Trial isnt worth a fig as it has some functions are disabled
namely the ability to remove an infection, so Webroot are now updating
their free Trial software so that it hopefully remove spyware, thsi is in
progress at the mo.

Um well if its a you know what,, how can it work properly because they
will have the serial on the database for file definition updates and if you cant
get definition updates It aint worth a toss.

OK I have 4 unique serials - they all update fine.

Plus if you really want to know there is a way to retrieve the updates without a working serial but it probably shouldn't be posted here.

gunneradt ... I have to back up Intel here. If you are not using a full and proper version of any program you will appreciate your comments are not adding anything of any use to this thread. I agree that Webroot is/was good but there is no point advising Marylee - or anyone else - to use it if they don't have the same functionality you claim to have.
