PC & XBox into 1 Monitor

Hi, I'm trying to connect an XBox & a PC into one monitor and have an output into an amp. My monitor has VGA and HDMI. The XBox also has these (Premium) so ideally the PC needs a VGA and the XBox would be fine with an HDMI with a split for sound but I can't find one.....any ideas anyone?

Cheers D

All PCs should come with a DVI to VGA dongle so you can then use VGA to connect to the monitor. Not sure about the sound though. Isn't there a TOSLink port on the Xbox monitor cable at the console end?

    Thanks Conor,
I'm not sure what a TOSLink is, there is optical XBox output, but the stereo only has an optical output (!). I can connect the PC to the VGA on the monitor and I could get an HDMI XBox lead (£35.00!!) or another HDMI lead to connect to the HDMI on the monitor but I wouldn't be able to get sound from the XBox through the stereo.
If there was an HDMI lead that split for sound that could be an answere....but I can't find one.
You'de think someone would standardise things, or bring back the local shops where, if they couldn't find a lead they would make you one!

Ah..TOSLink=optical. Apparently there's a messy way to do it I found whilst looking at something else. You get a standard 360 component lead, prise apart the console end and remove the top cover. you can then just about manage to get a standard HDMI cable to plug into the 360.

That's a very interesting site, but I'm not too sure if it solves the sound problem I have.
Got an idea though...use an HDMI cable for the XBox, then also use the XBox Composite lead, but only use the sound lead to plug into an amp.
The PC could then plug into the monitor VGA input.
So the PC uses the VGA. The Xbox uses HDMI and the composite lead for sound only.....I think

Just had another look at that site. I see that is there idea though it isn't possible without taking the top off their lead
