I bought this memory stick to put divx films onto to watch on my Hanns g hp076vd portable dvd player. When i insert the usb stick into the usb port on my machine i get a message saying that it is an unreadable file. But if i put the same film on a sd card and then use a usb memory card adaptor the film plays no problem. I have formatted the memory stick and tried again but i still wont play. Any one have any ideas.
Many thanks

Did the USB stick come from a reputable source?
If it came from somewhere like Ebay then it may be a fake - a smaller drive specially formatted to look bigger. Unfortunately, both formatting and writing to such a card will appear to work - it's only when you come to read the data that you find that it's not all there.0 -
Have you tried any other *.avi files or perhaps even mp3 or jpgs assuming the DivX player supports it, most do
Mine works with above including XviD and reads 16gb flash memory

The HannsG HP076VD 7 inch portable DVD player is ready to playback your movies and TV shows from DVD disc, as well as Kodak Picture CDs, along with music, MP3s and JPEG photos from CD.

Thanks for the help everyone.
I bought the stick at Asda so it should be ok. I have also tried mp3 and other avi files too. The weird thing is that if i were to put the same files onto a micro sd card and put the card in either a usb micro card reader or into a coventional card adaptor, or on a cd the files play ok. It does play divx and xvid because i have burned both types to disc and watched them.
Thanks
