If you're after a basic satnav the Tomtom V4 is a good choice in my opinion. Cdiscount currently have the UK maps version for £79.99 including free standard delivery at http://cdiscount.co.uk/SoundVisionandSatNav/SatNav/f-407-178933.html.
The satnav comes with 12 months basic breakdown cover. You can also pay by 3 instalments and if you put in the code from the front page you get a free bottle of wine. I think they are a new company but I used them before Christmas without any problems.

The XL UK Traffic is £127.26 in store at Halfords so you can go in and have a play with the demo model.
