    Thanks for feedback. I've heard that a codicil would cost around £65 for each will, so I'm going to rewrite them myself with the executors cut from 3 to 2.

    I'll keep both versions together to make it obvious that the later one has cancelled the earlier one.
  • Would it be worthwhile also writing to the solicitor to advise that you have rewritten the will and he/she is no longer required as an executor? There is no need to state any reason. Keep a copy of the letter with the will.

    I don't think you need to keep the old will or write to the solicitor saying that it has been changed. The will should say that it revokes all earlier wills.
