You will need to physically connect the netbooks via cable first. Get it configured first whilst cabled, and then see if the wireless works after - always the first step to take if you can see your network but can't connect.0

Which netbooks did you buy? You may need to update the wireless network drivers. My wireless was abysmal until I did this.0

Okay
What computer do you have?
I've got a eeepc 701 since nov2007 running xandros linux and I run the full custom desktop. I also use Mandriva at home and work so I should be able to help.
The first thing to do is make sure your router can be seen
Connect on your normal computer and make sure the SSID is seen.
Then temporarilly take off encryption and see if you can connect. Then put encryption back on with WEP and see if you can connect. Then go back to your router and turn on encryption to WPA and try again. The eeepc can use WPA straight off but your netbook may have a different linux (which is really thte kernel) and this may be older and not have WPA by default.
Encryption is important.... here is why.
1) someone can use your computer to look at dodgy sites
2) someoen can prevent you from getting access to your internet. Mose router have an IP of 192.168.0.1 and if you dont have encryption then they can slap on a password and down your internet (okay you soimly do ahard reset but it is a pain)
If you are the only one that uses your internet then use MAC filtering.
Anyway back to broadband.... try plugging in an ethernet cable as a last resort.
Cheers
