Car Insurance - Valuation after accident

A friend of mine was recently involved in a minor accident in her 15 year old car. While the car is old its in exceptionally good condition and while she is waiting for a engineer to call we were wondering how does the insurance company value such old cars?

Based on the cost to buy a car of a similar age, mileage and condition. Unless your friend's car is a "classic", I expect it will be valued at less than £500.In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0

yes thanks, get that but how do they decide it worth
Do they bunch all cars together of a certain age and pay out the same amount, do they go and look on ebay or is there some sort of guide for cars that age0 -
