Looking For Ideas Please For Sons 1st Birthday

  • Get a couple of newspapers and an argos or other catalogue on his birthday and subsequent ones and save them every year so when he is grown up you can show him the sort of things we use and the toys he had. Think back to the cost and memory size of say computers during my 12 year olds lifetime!

I think it's a lovely idea :D We had a party for our DS1 1st birthday but went out for a meal instead for DS2 1st birthday.

How about a bubble machine blowing out bubbles - or have an adult blowing them?

Party bag ideas - small board book; bath toy; iced biscuit with child's name on; little cadbury's chocolate bar or buttons...

Hope you have a lovely day, make sure your camera is fully charged :D

I have always done a 1st birthday party for my children.

lots of paper chains, balloons, bubbles, party music, pass the parcel (sat on our laps). We are from a big family so we have lots of older niece and nephews so we have to cater for them too.

I love the annable karmel books. We do the rolled sandwiches at parties, like swish roll cakes but sarnies. Lots of finger foods Have a look here and here for some ideas. they are really easy to do honest!! Ive made them in the past.

I love the idea of a party book filled with comments and pictures from guests. I think that would be a beautiful keepsake.

My little one is going to turn one on Tuesday! We are having a party for him tomorrow at my parents house. We decided on a cow boy and Indian theme and have decorations and table ware to match. It is fancy dress too, George is the Sherif and OH and I are a cowboy and an Indian. He may not be able to remember it but what else will be remember from his early years apart from the knowledge that he was loved and happy. I will film the party and take millions of pictures. I am also planning a memory book of some kind for guests to write a little message to him. He will be able to look back at his party and see how much fun he had with all the family and friends.

We have catered for adults mainly as we have 6 children coming and a lot more adults! The children have a selection of soft rolls, baby crisps, bread sticks, cucumber, carrot and celery sticks, dip, fruit salad. I have made a pass the pacel, I thought just one game to break the ice between the older three who don't know each other. If the weather is fine they can play in the garden. Apart from that there will be toys and they can enjoy eachothers company.

I really can't wait for tomorrow! I have organised and written lists and it will all be worth it :j
