So they made a mistake, i pay, i have made an official complaint now, if no luck i am going to the ombusman and the FSA. This is comical!!!
Except that they didn't actually make a mistake, and since they never actually received that money it seems bizarre that you expect them to pay interest on it.0 -

Are you actually reading the replies given by the people who are trying to help you? If not, then maybe the vent forum would be a better place to post?
If the money, as verified by your bank statement, never left the account then you don't have a case.0 -
I have had the same issue however it was my fault because I did not use the DDR set up. They e-mailed but I forgot to do it or contact my bank. The intresting thing I found out was if ICICI took the money when the DDR had expired they would be responsible for the any losses. You could have complained to your bank to say ICICI should never have taken the money in the first place and take them to the FSA claiming more lost intrest !!
For me to give you your money back is the lesser of two evils. They are protected because they are only following the rules under BACS see previous posts.0 -
When Things Go Wrong With This Lot It's Really Bad. They Have No Care Or Regard For Your Complaint, A Bunch Of Useless & Face Less Beuracrats!! I Have Been With Them For 3 Years, Tried To Access Some Much Needed Funds Which Were Auto - Renewed Without My Consent. They've Tied Up My Funds For Another 6months, Despite Advising I Would Have Access On Maturity. Taking Up With Ombudsman,....... Beware They Will Go To Any Lenghs To Hold Onto Your ££££.0

It appears it would be more customer-friendly if ICICI didn't allow transfers to be requested if the DD authority has expired. Seems a bit of an oversight not to have such a check, and can lead to annoyed customers, as demonstrated by meatandtwoveg. However, it also seems that ICICI have done nothing fundamentally wrong, just been rather inefficient.0

If they auto-renew, its because you selected that when you open the account
I've got to say I've always found them very helpful on the phone when I've rung up for odd things, not that they've ever caused me any issues that needed resolving!0
