Hi Hopeful.....Equigas have the same prices for prepay as they have for metered usage.
Non profit making so they say. You need to feed your figures into Martin's recommended comparison site.

Yes, Equigas have the same prices no matter how you pay, however they are not always the cheapest.

Unless you are completely useless with money, I'd get the meters replaced with credit meters and then switch to paying monthly via direct debit. Saves having to pop out to a shop and top-up.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

Should also add the trouble with prepayment meters is, the card you insert could update the rates you pay, and you could be paying more than you need to, but you would then get a bill at the end of the quarter, stating how much electricity you have used and how much you have paid towards that quarters electricity, this can work both ways, in that you aren't paying enough towards the quarters bill. So you will either be in for a refund or need to pay the difference.

It does appear British gas are the cheapest for electricity at the moment, if you have a credit meter and pay monthly by direct debit.
