Citi credit card

I received an application for a Citi credit card. I already have a few credit cards but I thought I'll apply for the card anyway and keep it as an extra credit card although I may not use it much. I received the card about three weeks after I received the PIN and small book of cheques.
My limit is £3,000.
Anyway to activate the card for use it's an 0870 no. I also noticed that when I got thru there were lots of questions asked more than necessary just to activate the card.I got the feeling that the lady at the overseas centre is told to try and extend the call as the company get a percentage of 0870 calls.
If you call them about anything else it's also an 0870 no.
I don't know if there is a cheaper no to ring.

The lady was also keen to get me to transfer balances from other credit cards although if you do this and still use the card as well for purchases the fresh purchases and interest aren't paid off until any 0% deals are cleared first.

Any views on this company welcome.
