12 months ago a got a sofa from SCS on a 12 months intrest free deal. Money was in the bank, but why pass up 12 months of interest on £1097 ??
Anyway.... went to settle up today on the creation website using my tesco credit card - thought might as well get some reward points too!
However is the VERY small print at the bottom of the screen (I nearly missed it) is a 4% charge on payments via credit card and a £3 charge on all other payments. In facts I cant see a way where you can just pay the bill!
Creation Finance seems a very dodgy company to me.... I have read the other posts on here !!

Hi
This is a warning to any Creation ConsumerFinance customers.....Be careful!
I bought some white goods from a department store and purchased on a buy now pay later. Now Is the time I must pay for my sins so I went online to pay. Their site www.creationcf.com as described on the agreement etc, did not come up as a secure site. If u type in the http:// bit site still came up not secure. The only way you get any security is by entering https://www.creationcf.com
A google search also comes up with a different site, same name but .co.uk instead, also not secure.
All these sites look and behave the same as far as I could tell.
P.S I also noticed the extra charge for paying by cardCheers Edd :beer:0 -
Just about to pay my bill, noticed your comments, thanks. have things changed since Dec 08?0

Just paid off my laptop on this site. It was secure and there was a £3 charge. I had the option of sending a cheque with no additional charge but opted for the charge as I'm lazy and got instant confirmation it was paid off.0 -

I filled out the Finance forms on the Dell computer site.Buy now pay 12months later.I went through it all including card details. When It came to confirming I noticed I had to agree to a £49 charge to set this up.So I did not tick the box and cancelled.Saw my bank statement a few days later,They had taken £49 out.
I phoned my bank who told me to cantact them.So I did. They said they have no record of this transaction because it will not show on their system. They said it must have been my fault and I must have filled it in.I said if that is the case where is my computer and agreement. He then said send him my bank statement. After a few strong words I will now go back to my bank.
My advice is do not touch this company.Dell should stop using these.0 -
I too have had an unpleasant experience with this company.I bought a Dell Computer in September. I was offered a years interest-free credit, which I accepted. I paid a deposit of £49 on 30/9/2010. When I received the credit agreement, I found that I was expected to agree to pay the balance back at the expiration of a year and, if I forgot to do so, would immediately be liable for a much larger sum. The interest rate for any unpaid balance was, in my opinion, extortionate.
I immediately told Dell but I did not want the finance. The sales department told me that the agreement would be cancelled, that my deposit would be refunded and I could tear up the agreement and not worry about it any more. I paid by Visa card for the computer and it was delivered. At the end of November, going through my bank statement, I noticed that the money had not been refunded as promised. I contacted Dell immediately to complain. I got an automated reply but to date have received no other confirmation that my complaint was being addressed. I also contacted Creation by e-mail but do not think I even had the courtesy of a confirmation e-mail. Today I have checked my bank account and discovered that on 3/12/2010 my deposit was refunded, some two months late. I cannot tell whether they intended to keep it in the absence of any complaint from me. However I think that is a fair assumption given the passage of time since the promise of a refund. I have now got to wait the full year to discover whether they have indeed cancelled my contract, because I have had nothing either from Dell or from Creation to confirm that it no longer exists. It is quite possible that the company has cancelled the contract and I have nothing to worry about. However I have no way of confirming this at present and will have to make a second complaint to seek confirmation.
My conclusion: I will not be tempted again and I would suggest that you should be very careful before you agree to take this year's interest-free finance. If you do need it, perhaps try sending the cheque a few weeks in advance of the anniversary and check in good time to see if it has been cashed.0 -
I came into contact with these people in January 2011. I was contemplating buying two laptops from Dell and got passed to creation by the Dell system.
I filled in extensive forms and got a credit offer for the purchase. However when I read the agreement page I decided not to go ahead and backed away without accepting their forms.
Dell subsequently emailed me acknowledging the cancellation.
Today I got my credit card statement and find that creationcf have charged my account £39.90.
Where I go from here who knows, because when I looked on their site I have a credit agreement with them for Dell goods0
