Egg Money - Saving cashback

I seem to remember that in certain circumstances (if you were lucky) that you got cashback if you transferred money from EM to ES.
I have a BT on its way to EM soon. I wanted to try this myself, but. I cannot see within the admin pages how to do said transfer.
I payed money into ES with my HSBC account and have paid money into EM using same method. On the drop down list there is no provision for EM to ES. Is that omission so that the cashback is now not possible and the only way to pay money into ES is via external means and not internal transfer?

EM=>ES transfers have to be requested by phone/secure message.

However, it seems that even if these do generate cashback most people have their cashback negated the following month.

There may be a workaround though...search the stoozing site for "the Pullman method".

There never was any provision to pay EM to ES - only the other way around. To try and get unofficial cashback send Egg a secure message, brief and to the point:

"Please transfer the amount of £XXXX from my EM account number nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn to my ES account number aaaaaaaa. Thank you.

It doesn't always work in generating cashback - and Egg do spot it occasionally and pull it back again - but you can always 'ask'

Some go through but are pulled back next month. Some however, if you get lucky may (do) go unnoticed.

I had mine credited then pulled back a month or so later (think I actually lost all the cashback from that month, rather than just from the BT).

  • I lost the cashback that I'd gained from moving EM to ES earlier on in the year. Am going to try the Pullman method this year, but sadly am not as 'liquid' as I was earlier in the year.

    Good luck everyone.
