  • helenhugs - I no longer have internet at home so i sneak on here at work, haven't had chance to upload any yet, will try my best to do them soon. I just put the rice into the sock but what i have found is that the socks don't just stretch length way but width as well, so they don't look like they are full. I prefer it this way as it means you can stretch them or shrink them to fit different size doors/windows.

If you want to do washable ones then I did read somewhere that you could put the rice into bags and rather than sew up the end put poppers onto it.
*~* My life is a little mystery that I am still trying to solve*~*

lol I'll let you off for now then. I love seeing other peoples creations. Makes me think I can do anything, after all if someone else can do it why cant I!!! (we'll ignore the fact I'm terrible at arty things)

Anglea - Ive found these http://www.3dcrossstitch.co.uk/ mini houses. I saw them at a craft fair 2 or 3 years ago and never got the nerve to try :o
    but they look amazing.:D
  • Yay! We finally have proper fluffy snow!!
Makes me feel all Christmassy, when we got a little bit on Tues my collegue wanted to sing Christmas Carols but noone else would let him, maybe we will today! I am going to brave the cold at lunch and build a snowman on our courtyard. probably get laughed at, need to rope someone else in to share the ridicule!
I went to my craft shop yesterday for half marbles for the fridge magnets but they were ridiculously expensive!! They had some loose glass nuggets and I think they will be fine. I bought 5 to experiment (10p each!!) ikea didn't have any clear ones so will have to keep an eye out in other shops. I'll have a play tonight and try to upload some pics.

This baby's first christmas bauble looks simple enough to copy http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=sr_gallery_1&listing_id=15655518&ga_search_query=gingerbreadman&ga_search_type=
made by painting a christmas bauble with enamel paints and it seem's to be using a microfibre fabric for the hat, yet they could be knitted, fleece, felt anything really what do you think?

Thanks for the link she grinch, I just love that gingie, how cute is he?
  • Yay, I made some of the glass nugget magnets last night and i think they came out ok. They weren't as good as the tutorial, the pics aren't quite as magnified as you get if you use proper half marbles but I still think they look pretty cool. I used tiny photos, drew round the nugget, cut it out and used all purpose liquid glue to stick them together. Don't try to spread out the glue or you will smudge the photo, just let the weight of the nugget spread it out. then i stuck on some magnetic backing and they look quite cute. Adding them to my boyf anniversary gifts.
I also finally finished my exploding box of photos which is looks ok, just cbelieve how long it took! I will try to add pics later.
