I quite prefer the martha stewart design as it has a strip of wire across the middle to hold the bend in the cookie. A nice little gift and can be used to hold a small gift like jewellery or simply a personal message. There are various sites where you can get templates for a Chinese take out box including printable ones, like this: http://www.packagetech.com/chinese-takeout-boxes.html Hope this helps someone.

I am sure docrafts have a template for one of these boxes think they are around £2.99 check out their site for local stockists but as someone has said try looking for a free template to print off

Toilet roll I have just read a post in one of the threads in this part of the forum where someone had wrapped up a toilet roll and it had a verse with it about not having much money but sorry no idea which thread it was could have been the thrifty gifty one but definitely one on the first two pages as not got any further into the forum. Someone on here may be able to point you in the right direction.

When I did the loo roll last year I wrapped it in red paper and stuck eyes and nose on and a smiley mouth plus bow on top.

    The verse I used was
I bought this little gift for you
    I thought it was unique
I bet you can't guess what it is
    So trendy and so chic
You'll never get caught short again
Now that you have this chum
    He's charming and he's funny
And he'll help you wipe your (nose/bum ? whichever suits)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

    Snowmans kisses:

    Box of white tic tacs
    red card
    white card
    ribbon (whichever colour you choose)

Cut a circle towards the bottom of the red card and fold it round tic tac box (so it looks a bit like a book cover leaving top bottom and side free) stick it with pva glue
Put ribbon around the centre leaving enough to tie at open end of 'box' and stick with double sided tape
Cut white card a bit smaller than red but with hole in the same place (this is the bottom part of the snowman)
Draw two more circles on top of the hole (upper body and head) twiggy arms and a hat. Add any embelishment you want to the hat.
    Tie ribbon in a bow.
The tic tacs can be seen through the hole and these are snowman kisses.
    Verse is:

He's cute, cuddly and full of good wishes
And wants to give you these snowman kisses

I must admit I got in a pickle doing this so only did one for my grandson.
There is another way of doing the snowman picture........can't remember who did it but it was a round piece of white card with eyes, nose and mouth and stuck slighty over the hole

Hope this all makes sense..........not very good at directions...............

Don't know about the lump of coal as I''ve never done that before,

    Hope that helps anyway

Other things you can do cheap and cheerful
Pots of gold -(empty kitchen jar or gravy tub covered with gold paper, with gold choccy coins in, gold ribbon tied round or on the lid)

Pot of snowballs - empty kitchen jar filled with snowball choccys and ribbon round the top........stick snowman image onto the jar
    Label:
I'm dreaming of a white christmas
Just like the one's we used to know
But just in case it don't happen
I'm sending you this pot of snow

    or

In case it gets to Christmas day
    And theres been no snowfall
I'm sending you this little pot
    That's full up with snowballs

If you have a look on the 'making cards' thread there's a lot of stuff on various blogs that might help.
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
