I love the pebble magnets - what would be the best kind of varnish do you think?0

Someone suggested clear nail varnish and I agree that would do the jobNothing Changes if Nothing Changes0

Morning all,
I love the magnet idea! Another idea for my ever growing list! Not sure what to put on them tho. I thinking something not too Christmassy as they might end up in a box for most of the year. Maybe do someone's name, fav animal, guess depends how big the stone is.
What are other people putting on?
Think i'll have another cuppa and get back to the organised crafting mess that is my front room!:j Baby boy arrived 22nd August 2012 :j

I think i've seen somewhere about drying oranges and stuff. And getting a few pine cones. I think you can add some nice smelling oil.
I have a Christmas "making things" book. I'll dig it out and see, i'm sure it's in there:j Baby boy arrived 22nd August 2012 :j

Could adapt this image I'm sure for the pebbles
Or how about a rudolph reindeer head and stick a small red button on for the nose.
You could also do a christmas pudding. the list goes on and on I'm sure...............Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0 -

Ok here goes, it's a book called Homemade treats for Christmas by Fiona Eaton. It's called Herbal Potpourri.
You need:
1 handful dried mint leaves
2 handful dried marigold flowers
1 handful any other dried herb, such as thyme, sage or marjoram
10 dried orange slices
6 cinnamon sticks
a few dried chillies
4 nutmegs
1tsp mint essential oil1tbsp sweet orange essential oil
Mixing bowl
Spoon for mixing
large plastic bag
1 tbsp ground orris root (What is this??)
1, Mix all ingredients except the orris root into the bowl. Make sure the oils are well mixed with other ingredients.
2, Tip the mixture into the plastic bag add the orris root and shake well. Tie the bag to seal.
3, Leave to mature for 1-2 weeks shaking occasionally.
4, Tip into bowl/dish to display
Hope that helps
