Credit Cards Applications.....

Hi,

I recently applied for 2 different cards, Nationwide Credit Card but was declined in the middle of the application process....then a few days later I tried with the Post office credit card (Bank of Ireland) also was declined, but what I have noticed is that no searches appears on either my Experian or Equifax credit report for Nationwide or Post Office. Nationwide did not even send me a letter to confirm their decision and I received a letter from post office 2 days after application, and the strange thing is that normally in the letter they say which Credit Reference agency they have used, but this time they is no mention.
Has anyone experienced something similar?
I found it very strange that they did not searched the 2 main credit reference agencies

Thank you,

They may have declined you on basic criteria or scoring, in which case they wouldn't need to do a search.
