Hi many many thanks for all those replies, its good to see. I must admit I do feel a little bit tempted just to be nosey!, but no I am going to resist. Because come a fresh new year I will probably go through another declutter and want to clear cupboards etc. Also I know people do have christmas money etc but I would feel greedy after christmas going and buying more when I have had a few treats. Especially with a new year coming you want to spendless, stop buying save etc.
I think this should become a resist the sales thread !!!!:T2012 - Emergency savings fund goal by December 2012 £3000.000 -

I've already been to the sales, well sort of!
My printer packed up a couple of days ago so I went and bought a new one. I live 50 yards from Argos and was there at 10.00am when they opened to collect my reserved printer. I was second in the queue, but the man in front of me went to check the catalogue, so I was first served. Left home at 2 minutes to 10 and was back before 10 past!
An Epson Stylus SX100 at only £29.29 which is about half price. Chosen not just because of the price, but also because I have 2 full sets of cartridges that fit it, plus the ink left in my old one, about 1/3 full.
That will be my one and only visit to the sales as there is nothing I want or need.0 -
Hi,
Im not going to the sales today
But my wife is going to drag me around them tomorrow!!!!
she thinks i need some new stuff.
But if it was not for her then i would not go.:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
I need to get some clothes for ds, as he has school uniform, jeans and fleeces, but nothing in the way of 'going out' things.
I'm going to try and make some Christmas cards over the next few days as crafting is a nice holiday activity. I have one very large roll of paper still (that is having bought none at all this year!). Have already ordered crackers for next Christmas.
Christmas presents? Well all the young ones except our own get Cash or vouchers these days. I will probably get on and do hampers again for the wrinklies again, so that will have to be done later in the year.
I am expecting dh to start work in Mexico at the beg Feb, so will take the opportunity to get some pretty things for female rellys then.
What would be a really good idea would be to make a list of everything that is required and start to fill in ideas and tick stuff off. I did forget someone this Xmas, but fortunately she forgot our kids too LOL! We quite often exchange gifts when we meet in the spring.
THere are so many ideas here, when you read what everyone has done had had for Christmas, lots of inspiration. Thanks folks!
I do have some ££ and vouchers to spend, so will think about that. Might get a kitchen gadget, was thinking an electric mincer so that Pate is eaiser to do, can make good quality mince and also possibility of making sausages.
Will think about that. I have boots vouchers, so maybe a good idea to check out a few things there."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
