will argos send an item to another store

No it wasn't. There was a particular item (box of Knex) that had 1 left in a store quiet a way from us. We went to customer services, told them it was unavailable to order online and the only store that had it was too far for us (we don't drive and it would have meant 3 busses)

They contacted the other store and they arranged the transfer. They said it could take up to 2 weeks cause they don't use the same warehouse but we were happy to wait. About a week later we had a call from them to say they goods had arrived from the other store and we went to collect/pay.

So they can do it or did do it.

It is rare for them to do it - and it's totally up to the stock manager at the sending location as to whether he wants to do it or not. Please don't all go rushing up to the customer services desk, demanding a stock transfer of the poor person there! It rarely happens, and usually only if it's literally the other side of the country and someone really wants it desperately.

I just want to clarify..I did NOT demand a transfer...I went to enquire if it was possible and they didn't even hesitate...If they had said no, it wasn't possible, it wouldn't have been the end of the world!

Many stores do it, but not Argos in my experience (I tried once before without luck, but I was only doing it to speed up delivery, they got it from the warehousea bit slower)
