Probably not what with the time of year and all. If you ask the store you want it at they may try and sort it, but they may ask you to pay for all the costs for transferring the item i.e. fuel costs, parking costs, time for the person who is moving it for you - is it really worth it?

It's very unlikely. The only way they can do it is if either:
    a) both stores are supplied by the same warehouse and they get permission to do a transfer, which is pretty rare
    b) a member of staff is willing to drive there and get it for you...
Unfortunately neither are too likely :( I'd keep stock checking/seeing if it can be delivered, or drive to the store if it's really important. The new catalogue comes out on Jan 16th so stores may not restock if it will soon be old stock...

Are you sure this wasn't an 'order into the store' situation rather than a store to store transfer?
