    Can I agree with the post above and thank you for your post TediousPhoenix, I thought there had to be an easier way!

    Do we know if there is a good reason why the different browsers display sites differently, I mean I would have thought it would be in everybodies interest to have some sort of guidelines...

    there are guidelines, and these are the W3C which govern web standards

    however, Microsoft, being Microsoft have their own rules and ignore web standards on everything up to IE7. However IE8 should start adhering to web standards

    there are quirks in most browsers, however i find that Firefox, Opera and Safari all display websites very very similarly, and IE is the only one that screws things up (not the other way around!!)
