I am not sure whats going on- if anyone can help I will be very grateful!
Basicly, since August I have had a sony MP3 player which I have been downloading my music onto. It had been fine, easy to use/transfer music onto and the MP3 itself is still fine and in full working order.
However, I tried plugging it into my computer earlier today inly to find the computer has not picked up its there- it makes that beeping noise still, but its a different tone- like the sort you have at a game show where you say the wrong answer! And hence I cannot transfer any music to it or do anything to the music that is on it. Two weeks ago it was working perfectly.
I have tried visiting the sony site and uninstalling then reinstalling everything, including the media player. (the sonic player, the connect player, windows media 11 and the mp3 conversion tool). Nothing has helped. My computer still does not recognise the MP3. Or I should say it does, but seems to not allow it.
Firewalls: its turned off anyway (I know I know, not safe...etc) but am desperate, also tried a different USB port. Nothing changed.
Anyone have a clue what to do?
Merry Christmas everyone btw! Hope yours has been going better then mine! (wasted 3 hours on the computer trying to fix this now!)
