Thanks so far, I can now see where there stored, but I've no idea how I drag them over to the USB

Right click Start -> Explore -> Navigate to the folder with your music in, for me this is D:\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music

Right click on iTunes Music and select Copy, find your USB drive on the left then right click and Paste

I followed your instructions David but when I inserted the USB into the laptop opened the drive I clicked on itunes, but it said "Windows cannot open the file"

Humm, anything else I can do?

Not sure I follow what you mean...

If you click on My Computer and navigate to your own personal music folder (this is specified in iTunes -> Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced) then right click on "iTunes Music" or whatever the folder is called which contains all your artists then select Copy. Then open another My Computer window and right click your USB drive and select Paste.

N.B. you'd want to close iTunes before doing this...

I done that on the desktop,

Then I took the USB out and reinserted it into the laptop, opened the USB up and clicked on itunes, but I got that message "Windows cannot open the file"

I'm still a little confused. We're not asking it to open a file. Did you Paste the iTunes folder onto the USB stick? Can you see all the music on the USB when using your desktop?

    Yes

If you right click the iTunes folder is there a security tab? If not can you uncheck read only so it's not checked or ticked at all.

    David

I right clicked on the folder, I don't see any security tab or anything to do with read only.

I hoverd the mouse over the folder, it says 3.33GB folder: itunes music, album artwork

    file: itunes music library, xml,

Opps, after right clicking, go to Properties first, then look for the tab or read only.
