Hello fellow moneysavers
Hope you all had a great xmas lunch... and are busy with the gr8 Xmas Online Bargain Hunt.
I am considering getting a new landline primarily to make free/very cheap calls to Norway and then family can also call me for free from Norway.
I have been reading the advice notes by Martin about it and the things that stick out are:
Any help/suggestion/advice be very much appreciated.

I am considering getting a new landline primarily to make free/very cheap calls to Norway and then family can also call me for free from Norway.
I have been reading the advice notes by Martin about it and the things that stick out are:
- Dec 08. The short term TalkTalk promotion beats the Tiscali standard deal.
- I may have to pay BT for line rental and use one of the many over-riders to make cheap calls in UK and abroad.
- There's already a landline in the house although no dial tone, so will have to pay reconnection charges.
- I have USB broadband from 3 so don't need another broadband.
Any help/suggestion/advice be very much appreciated.
Thanks
Kind Regards

Please click on the HERE link in my signature below.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

Just a quick word of advice - avoid tiscali at all costs! they have zero customer service, I really don't know how they get away with it ( )?
talk-talk don't have a good reputation either, it comes down to "where are their customer services based?" both of these companies are overseas.
Also - don't know how much help this would be but check out
www.samknows.com
to find out if your local exchange is "unbundled or not" (industry jargon that basically means BT is allowing other providers access to your line direct!)
Happy hunting.:TWhen a jar contains rocks, pebbles and sand is it truly full? What about beer?0 -
