Grundfos boiler pump getting VERY hot

If you have read my previous posts, you will know that i had to have a new pump fitted for the Vaillant Ecomax Pro 18E boiler this week. The corgi guy cam on Monday and fitted it... works a treat.
I went in the airing cupboard today where the pump is located and the pump is extremely hot, almost to the point where i cant touch the plastic casing.
We have plenty of heat in the radiators, and no other problems .... the boiler is firing up brilliantly and the radiators warming up instantly, as is the hot water.
Is this something i should be worried about, or is it common for them to get hot?
Cheers

You would not expect to be able to hold your heating pipes with your bare hands. So why should you expect to be able to hold the pump, which is supplying them with the water which is making them hot.
If the pump was getting hot and there was no hot water, then there would be a problem. In that case, the pump would be overheating due to lack of water, as these pumps are mostly water lubricated. From your description, it sounds as if everything is fine.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
Agreed. Try turning the boiler down to nearly nil and feel the pipe and pump then.0

We have a Grundfos pump and it heats the water and radiators well - it also gets extremely hot so I suppose that's the norm and hopefully nothing is wrong.0
