Get this to find out your hardware. http://www.cpuid.com/pcwizard.php click on the left and its underneath where it says latest version. This will tell you what hardware you have als get belarc and Everest as they may help.http://www.intels.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/
Now write down what you need then go to http://www.driverguide.com/ to log in use
driver2 as a usename and all as the password. And go get the drivers save them to CD or summet and use ready for the re-install.
You dont have to save them to disk its only if you format a PC you should
save them to disk, if you are not going for a fromat just use them.0 -

You need to get some CD writing software, they are not really drivers. Roxio/Nero etc..
Don't you have the disks? If not, borrow a friends (assuming that you had a license already) or get a freebie:

If you need a free burner software I got this from download.com
Express Burn
They also do some handy editing, ripping and converting software called wave pad, express rip and switch respectively. If you download any one of these it gives you the option to add any of the others via tick box selection.
Switch is very handy to convert cds to mp3 to load onto your mobile as music or ringtones.I have a cunning plan!
Proud to be dealing with my debts.0 -
i have nero but it doesnt recognise the drive as a cd writer anymore, just as a cd drive. If i right click on the drive it used to give an option to format a blank disk but it doesnt anymore.0

You'll have to update the supported writer list to a version later than your cd writer from nero.0
