New Years Resolutions?

I need to stick to my spending plan for 2009. I didn't for 2008: the bad news is, I had to admit defeat and buy a new (second-hand) car, as the old one became uneconomical to keep - I was facing bills of £1,000+ to keep it on the road; the good news is, I swapped very expensive debt for less expensive debt, so I saved some money.
As I'm going to stick to the spending plan in 2009, by this time next year I'll be able to say goodbye to another creditor. And if I can save £1 a day, I can also have a second one paid off - so that's an incentive not to give into the latte tempatation every day!
Also, I need to seriously return to the gym. I lost a stone during 2008 (well, I had done before the excesses of Christmas!), my membership is being renewed at the end of January, and I need to get back into the habit of going 3 times a week.
Thirdly, the house needs a serious - and I mean SERIOUS - de-clutter: I'm talking enough bin bags to sink a battleship and mutliple trips to the charity shop or tip, depending on what I'm getting rid of. I think most of it will be going to the tip, as I've been hoarding rubbish!
Generally, I need to take control of my life.0 -
welll mine is....
Start my weight loss journey, get rid of my overdraft (one of my many debts) and keep to the sealed pot challenge!!!!!! yay... good luck all!9 years and counting0 -
Mine are:
get rid of my credit card - currently at £350
run 3.30 in the london marathon
meet someone wonderful who I want to spend the rest of my life with (okay there's not much I can do about that one in terms of making it happen, but I'm hoping it does

Which of those 3 things do you view the most important?:pNature wants the human race to survive. However, it does not depend on us because we are not its only invention.0 -

My only resolution for 2009 is to stop expecting too much of myself or others as failure and disappointment aren't good. I don't intend to feel quite so bad about things as a result. Fingers crossed;)Reality check - hit rock bottom on 15 Dec 2008 with unsecured debts of £29,136 and not enough money to live on
:j NOW DEBT FREE!!!! :j
I try to take life one day at a time but sometimes several days attack me at once

My new years resolutions;
1) Only spend money on stuff I need/really want and not on stuff that will just be added to the "pile"
2) Meal plan and stop wasting money on food that ends up getting chucked
3) Do not spend as much time on the net and watching rubbish tv, do "stuff" instead
4) EDIT and how could I forget.... a major declutter!!
That will do for now

1. Make the most of a training course I am starting in January. It will lead to bigger and better things, but I need to be focused and work hard (I'm easily distracted  )
2. Learn to cook, and hopefully save money doing so. Santa kindly bought me some Delia books for Christmas
3. Join the January grocery challenge and stop eating all our money away!!!
4. Buy teenage son some more jumpers and some thermal undies, so he will hopefully stop walking around in t-shirts complaining he is cold and turning the heating up :rolleyes:0 -
get my residency paperwork sorted so i can stay in new zealand
chev
