Finding D Link Router password to add Laptop

Good Morning everyone and Happy Christmas
i've been up forever this morning (smart 11 year old son set alarms on his phone and watch:mad:
I got him an Acer laptop and am trying to get it ready for use (as much as my tired eyes will let me) and one of the things it's asking for is my D Link password?
I'm such a techie nonsense I had to get someone in to instal my wirelss router and so I don't know how to fix this. Can anyone help me either locate this password or create another one. I tried to bypass the question on the laptop but it wouldn't let me.
Thanks in advance of saving a mum's last nerve:p

this will be the key to access the wireless network...do you have it written down somewhere from when it was set up for you ??
you should be able to see the name of the network when the laptop detects it, so you should then enter the password/key to enable the lappy to connect.........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

possibly in the booklet/literature that came with the router....or in the case of a lot of them....sticky label attached to the base or back of router...
if you have forgotten or lost it....you may be able to access the router as the administrator and change the user password to something more easily remembered....this might help
Step 1 Open a web browser and enter the IP address of the router in the address bar (default is 192.168.0.1). Press Enter.
Step 2 The default username is admin and the password is blank (nothing). Click OK.
Step 3 Click the Tools tab and then click Admin to the left.
I think thats the factory settings for D-LinkI'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j
Those who can do, those who can't, come to me for lessons:cool:0
