Is there a way to keep landline number, but stopping line rental

We have a fax number that we have for receiving faxes but don't need to make any calls out on. We are paying BT £45 a quarter for the privilige. I would love to have the fax number pointed to a fax to email number (like an 0870 one with efax), but we need to keep the fax number the same as it has been known for years and printed on our letterhead.
I was wondering if we ported the number to a cable company or something? Or shall I just keep paying BT the quarterly fee?
Thanks in advance for your help

To be able to do what you want to do, you still have to pay line rental for the incoming fax line/number. I assume from the rental you are paying BT have it classified as a business line.
Their are business telecom suppliers out their that do cheaper line rental then BT.You might try one of those. But the chances are they would want you to put your outgoing calls through them.PF.0
