I use Pax and have had good experiences with both customer services and claims. Just be aware that they use another company (the insurance parent company I think) to action the claims, so you will have to wait a few days after your first call for the company to verify with Pax that you have a valid policy. A bit annoying when you need the replacement fast, i.e your mobile phone.

I have not experienced the other companies. Though from others it seems they all try and be good as they know that word of mouth would spread very rapidly in the forces if they were not.
  • I am with Forces Financial who took over from Naafi Financial. I have been in the RN for 13 years and have had kit insurance from pretty much week 1. I have only had to claim once and they were very quick and helpful. I lost a camera whilst doing aircrew survival drills in the sea (camera was in a waterproof bag, fell out of my pocket and floated off somewhere. Some scrote has probably proffed the camera when it washed up somewhere!!).

Anyway, I rang them up at 1600 ish, gave them the dit on what happened. They said that someone would be in touch. An hour later I had someone on the phone from Jessops asking me what camera I wanted to replace it. They then despatched a new camera and other bits to me that evening, and I received it two days later. I had to pay a £50 excess, but the camera, memory card, waterproof case etc, came to over £400 so it was well worth it. :D

Forces financial im with, had a few claims too..

One was theft, the other was laptop damage and the more recent was laptop damage in cyprus.

Pretty good, only problem is that you have to put up a fight to get the same spec item back, or unless your happy to except a lower value item.
