using xbox live at another house?

hi,
if i have a gold membership on xbox live and take my console to a friends house to play there, will we be able to play online via their internet connection or is it exclusive to my own connection and not possible to play on any other internet connection?

you could try it, as far as i know its not exclusive to your connection,0 -
well what i am wondering really is could there be ip address related issues. afterall they may prevent it so that when someone has their console stolen then the thief cant play online for free on that console.
12 months gold membership is only £30 in zavvi at the moment and i am going round a friends house with the console next monday. it would be great to renew my membership and be able to play online as well.0 -

but surely the adapter would pick up said network and connect to it, it would be like moving house, if you moved house you wouldn't tell ms you had moved so when they noticed a change of IP address they would ban you,0 -
i never thought of that. so i shouldnt have a problem then.0
