This morning (Christmas Eve) my wife went to the local Waitrose to collect and pay for some food she'd ordered. We normally shop at Asda to save money, but thought we'd treat ourselves this year.
Although everything else was ready for collection, a pack of roasted veg was missing. The very helpful assistant apologised and said they'd deliver it later if it turned up. He also gave my wife a pack of buttered parsnips to compensate.
After lunch we got a call from a lady at Waitrose saying that they had found some roasted veg, and could she bring it round after she finished work at 4pm. Sure enough, she did - I pointed out that we hadn't paid for it yet, but she said we could do that next time we went to the store. She also wouldn't take back the buttered parsnips.
Ok, we're only just over 2 miles away. But even so, we're very impressed, and think Waitrose in Woodley (Berks) deserve a big :T
Happy Christmas!

Hello,
Sort of related to your post, I use the Waitrose delivery service once a week and have found them to be superb.
On one occasion when they were really busy they were almost outside the alloted 2 hour delivery slot. The driver apologised for knocking on our door so late, I didn't mind at all as the slot was for between 8-10pm (it was about 5 to 10)
I never thought anymore of it but a couple of days later I checked my bank account and noticed that they had refunded the £5 delivery charge, they usually only do this if the delivery is late. I mentioned it to the driver the following week and he said it was just a goodwill gesture which I thought was really sweet.
I really like their service as it is so efficient, the drivers are all friendly and polite and if there are any subsitutions they have always been sensible ones.0
