Scary how easy it is for people to get into debt! Most people tend to live just above their means, this is what the financial institutions prey on. Well done to everyone who's successfully reduced their cc limit and/or balance (count me in  )
Target for 2006 - get all credit cards in Britain down to £0 and put the companies out of business! Then refuse them all credit...It's better to light a candle than to curse the darkness.

Don't they claim that most people are only three wage packets away from the streets.
Now that is a scary thought.

They mean that most people have no savings. And after 3 months with out any wages/income they will have no home as they can't pay the mortgage and bills.
Don't forget that if you rent you are in a better position then people who own when it comes to benefits. As you will get your rent paid but if you have mortgage tough. You have to wait 36 weeks and you might get help with the interest payments.
