Credit Card reclaiming transaction problem

I was wondering if anybody could advise with regard to a problem I have with a RBS credit card.
I recently used the World of Warcraft/Blizzard entertainment website to make a subscription payment. Having made the first payment I was advised by the web page that my card number was invalid. As a result I retyped the details and had the same problem.
Some 15 minutes later I got a phone call from the RBS fraud team with regard to the transaction. It seems that one of the payments had gone through.
The problem is that, because I thought I hadn't paid initially, I made by seperate means and obviously don't want to pay twice.
Today RBS are saying that because i gave the company the details it is my problem . However yesterday, with the same information, I was advised that the payment could be reclaimed so I am a little confused. Are RBS trying to pull the wool over my eyes today? In a sense it is fraudulent because they said the payment had not gone through the first time.
Thanks

How did you make the separate payment?
Can you not contact the website to ask for one payment back?0 -

Your post is a little confusing, but I would imagine you'd need to speak to Blizzard Customer Services, not the card issuer, and explain the situation.
I subscribe to City of Heroes, and personally, I'd speak to NCSoft if I required a refund - especially seeing as though it wasn't fraud at all but a simple mistake/misunderstanding.
How many times did you attempt to use your RBS credit card? By the sound of things, it was more than once. Also how did the payment go through in the end and how many payments did you end up making?
I'm sure it can be reclaimed if you spoke to Blizzard, or maybe they can apply more gametime to your account if you made a one-off payment .:pAnything that I do say, is strictly my opinion
